Homemade Almond Milk
1 cup whole raw almonds, pumpkin seeds or hemp seeds
4 cups filtered water, plus more for soaking
tiny pinch salt
1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
1 tsp vanilla (optional)
Place nuts/seeds in a bowl, add 2 cups filtered water, and soak for 6-12 hours. Drain and rinse nuts, place in an upright blender, add 4 cups filtered water, salt, maple syrup, and vanilla. Blend on high speed for at least 45 seconds or until completely smooth and frothy. Pour through a cheese cloth/nut milk bag into a glass jar or bottle and store in the fridge for 4-5 days. Shake before using.
